All calls for the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department are answered in the Communication Control Room. Communication Officers answer 911 calls from homes located in the county and ALL cellular 911 calls placed within the county. Calls are then dispatched to the officer in charge, or re-routed to the appropriate agency. The department receives approximately eight-hundred 911 calls per month, and approximately 80% of those calls are from cellular phones. The Lawrence County Fire dispatch is also located in the Communication Control Room. A total of ten county fire departments (Guthrie, Huron, Indian Creek, Marion, Marshall, Oolitic, Perry, Pleasant Run, Shawswick, and Williams) are dispatched from the Communication Control Room for fire and medical runs in Lawrence County. |
